meena jacob named director of real estate

December 1, 2014 – The Coalition for a Better Acre in Lowell proudly announces that Meena Jacob has been named the new Director of Real Estate for the organization. Ms. Jacob had previously served as CBA’s Senior Project Manager.

As Director of Real Estate, Ms. Jacob will work with lending institutions, public entities, general contractors, architects, and other community partners to determine the feasibility of and secure financing for projects that foster and enhance CBA’s mission to provide high-quality, affordable housing.

“In her years as Senior Project Manager, Meena has demonstrated a tremendous collaborative spirit, strong management and financial skills, and extensive knowledge and experience in the field of community development and planning,” said CBA Executive Director Yun-Ju Choi. “We are very fortunate to have someone of Meena’s caliber in this important position, and we look forward to her continued contributions to CBA’s success.”

As Senior Project Manager, Ms. Jacob played a critical role in significant real estate developments, including the completed Unity Place Apartments on Moody Street, and current developments of the Gorham Street Apartments in Lowell and the construction of 27 affordable rental units in Haverhill, with a preference for veterans and their families.

Prior to joining CBA, Ms. Jacob worked at a private urban and environmental planning firm in Boston, where one of her major projects was the Hamilton Canal Redevelopment project in Lowell. She has earned a master’s degree in Urban and Environmental Planning and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).

“I am very excited to assume this new role in continuing CBA’s strong and successful history in developing safe, affordable and equitable housing for Lowell and the Merrimack Valley,” Ms. Jacob said. “CBA has had a profound impact over the past 32 years in revitalizing this neighborhood and region, and I am looking forward to building and strengthening CBA’s positive relationships with community stakeholders, members, and partners.”
